FaMet ReeFurl MAINTENANCE

THRUST WASHERS:

The two (2) washers Located between the bottom of
the Drum and the Thrust Bearing Pad at the time of installation should be 1/8" thick and should be
stacked on top of each other. Lubrication is not mandatory. However, an annual application of
waterproof grease is sometimes helpful.

When worn down to 1/16" or less, it is wise to
replace them. They are the only things between
the Aluminum Extrusions and the Thrust Bearing
pad taking the wear from furling the sail.

EXTRUSION (Section) FASTNERS:

14 stainless steel screws hold the halves of each
three-foot section together. It is wise to have
installed these screws with Locktite (#242).
It is recommended that all screws and fasteners be
inspected, and if needed re-tightened, annually
or after extended use.

HEADSTAY LUBRICATION:

At installation, the Headstay should have had a
generous coating of waterproof grease applied to
the lower six feet. We recommend that once per
year the system be raised slightly to check for
sufficient lubrication. The Headstay should be
re-lubricated every 5 years.

NOTE: As with any piece of equipment, it is
always a good idea to check the system before
extended use. Application of this maintenance
schedule will give you DECADES of reliable
service from your FaMet ReeFurl System.

MAN IT'S BULLETPROOF!
